Join Our Team Mentoring Children in
Hood and Somervell Counties

Children in the Hood and Somervell counties face tremendous challenges. Drug and alcohol abuse among minors, poverty, the removal of God from schools across the country, and negative influences of social media have plagued our society for the last few decades.

Children have suffered the most.

The impact on children has been anxiety, depression, chaos, suicide, godlessness, hopelessness, lack of clear direction in life, lack of social skills, and diminishing values and morals in American culture.

But there is hope.

We must stand up and lead the fight. Our mentors provide loving friendship, mentoring, education support, life lessons, and biblical teaching to help children build character, gain self-esteem, learn about God and his love and salvation, attain wisdom, learn a solid work ethic, become servants of their community, and find purpose in life using their knowledge, gifts and talents.

GET INVOLVED

If you have a heart for serving children in need and improving the course of our next generation and community, we invite you to join the Granbury team as a volunteer mentor. For more information, email rebecca@alliesyouth.org.

Goals

  • Teach children important life skills and lessons, including social skills, homemaking, hygiene, household budgeting, finance, human trafficking prevention, tools application, hunting and gun safety, fishing, agriculture, wildlife interaction, and more.

  • Share God’s salvation and provide moral teaching through Bible studies and modeling Christ’s love, bringing hope to children suffering with anxiety, depression, lack of self-esteem, and other conditions.

  • Provide educational support, tutoring, and vocational training to help children get on the pathway to a successful career.

  • Celebrate each child and their life with birthday parties each month.

  • Train children how to recognize and avoid common pitfalls in our society and culture, including the negative impact of drugs and alcohol abuse.

  • Mentor children in poverty or at-risk around the counties.

  • Help children prepare for the next stage of life.

  • Encourage children to become part of the MTM Youth Club. MTM has created a character-building creed. Children wishing to join the club will be challenged to memorize and demonstrate the concepts of the creed. Twice a year MTM will host a ceremony in which new children will have the opportunity to publicly recite the creed from memory and earn an MTM Gold Honor Badge.
